About the Artist
Painting since 2005, Kathy is a traditional artist whose work leans toward Impressionism with a strong abstract quality. Her current pieces are rooted in the landscape and inspired by the photos she takes while traveling throughout Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana and now, Maine.
Raised in Spokane, WA, Kathy holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Gonzaga University ('78) with an emphasis in drawing and painting. She has participated in numerous regional events* over the past 20 years and co-founded the Coeur d'Alene Artists' Studio Tour in 2013, with local artist Teresa McHugh.
Kathy is currently represented by MODUS Fine Art Gallery in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and The Turtle Gallery on Deer Isle, Maine.
While painting has been Kathy's vocation these past 20 years, she wishes to acknowledge that for her, the practice of making art is not a solitary endeavor. Though actual paint time is secluded, her life is truly sustained by the love of family and friends, which no painting on earth can replicate.
